Is there anyone still on this forum using Parasym Plus regularly for awhile now and can give some feedback on this product. On amazon there is only 20 some reviews in a years time. A few good ones and several not so good. Would love to hear some recent reviews with some length of time users. If you could spare a moment to let us know I’m sure many of us would appreciate the update. Thank you.

I’ve been taking Parasym plus going on 1 year now and I must say it has changed my quality of life…well…dramatically and wonderfully. My brain is working!
I am taking it with diamox. Regarding diamox: it is not working as well as at first. But perhaps my co2 is off. Haven’t been paying the needed attention to it. I am on a modified ketogenic diet and perhaps consuming some of the foods I need to avoid. Need to review that. Headaches truly change my personality and make the gift of living more challenging thus the reason I checked in on the prettyill forum.

Hi, I have been using Parasym Plus for the past week. I bought this primarily hoping it would help with POTS. I do have slow gut transit and chronic constipation which worsened with the acute onset of POTS in 2014, however this was already under good control with 1 sachet of movicol at night and half a teaspoon of magnesium citrate twice daily.

I found the Parasym definitely made my bowels work faster, increased the speed at which food moved through my digestive system and increased my appetite. In fact it made me a bit too loose, and I have now dropped the dose down to 1 capsule three times a day. The capsules are also quite large, but in our position who hasn’t/isn’t already swallowing numerous horse-pill type supplements in the hope of a bit of relief?!

Unfortunately it has not made any noticeable difference to my POTS at this stage, however I bought 2 bottles and will continue taking it until these run out in case this effect takes longer. If there is no improvement by then I will not buy again.

To anyone in the UK reading this - in addition to the £29 shipping costs, there was also an additional nasty surprise of £30 import duty which is unavoidable. This makes it an effective but very pricey laxative.

If your bowels are the main issue and standard laxatives have not worked, this is worth a go. It did not cause any pain, cramping or gas. If you haven’t already tried magnesium citrate (powder mixed up with any still drink) I would recommend this first as it is much cheaper and equally effective.

I could not at this point recommend it for POTS, brain fog, sympathetic overactivity, palpitations, headaches or any other non GI symptom, although it has only been a week.

Best wishes,

B xxx

Thanks for the feedback. I have just the opposite problem. Loose bowels several times a day so Parasym probably won’t be for me until I can get that under control. Dr. Diana suggested the z/z meds but not much help there. I could only take 1/2 of the Zyrtec a day. Anymore and my heart would start racing. Just started colostrum and it is showing promise with my digestive problem. Please let me know if Parasym starts working better with your pots, brain fog, etc.
Best regards

When trying to figure out if Parasym Plus could help you, I think it is important to understand what Parasym Plus is designed for (and what it is not). As patients, we can have SO MUCH going on (right?!), but peeling apart each layer is critical for recovery. One important layer is low acetylcholine release by nerves such as the vagus nerve. Parasym Plus is patented because it uniquely stimulates the vagus nerve while boosting acetylcholine for the brain. This means it can be a necessary step for those of us with signs and symptoms of vagus nerve problems and/or low acetylcholine release. This includes about 35 symptoms/signs such as constipation/gastroparesis, low stomach acid production, low gall bladder function, inflammation, fast heart rate, difficulty breathing, flushing, etc. For a complete list of symptoms, you may want to check out http://www.ChronicDiseaseDigest.org (and the results of our studies with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). It was necessary for the recovery of my family, and I was able to not only restore my gut function, but I saved my gall bladder and pancreas and fatigue is a distant memory. I hope it is hugely helpful for you and others. Gentle hugs

Thanks for the chronic disease attachment Dr. Diana. I have definitely had many of the symptoms listed. Not at the same time but it seems to change week to week. Month to month. I’m desperately trying to get well enough to make the trip to POTSCARE. I have been approved to come by your staff and have saved up the money to make the trip. I just need to be able to travel that long distance. Your post has prompted me to try the Parasym plus. It’s just scary to try anything new due to bad reactions to so many meds and supplements. There was one post on amazon that said her son landed in the hospital from a bad reaction. Several of us inquired on her son and what happened so we could be more prepared but she did not respond back. But I’ve come this far in my recovery from a damaged vagus nerve. Need to find the strength to continue on my journey to wellness. Fighting to regain my life…....
