Dr. Diana Driscoll (President, Genetic Disease Investigators) together with EDS Network C.A.R.E.S. is conducting a blood study for patients with Idiopathic POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).
Patients with and without Ehlers-Danlos syndrome can develop a form of dysautonomia called Idiopathic POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). The cause of this syndrome is currently unidentified and symptomatic treatment is unsuccessful in a majority of patients. If an (objective) blood marker can be identified that is higher in these patients than in healthy normals, this may provide insight both as to the cause of Idiopathic POTS, as well as guide new treatment options for these patients.
If you are a patient with POTS, or a healthy “normal”, please contact the study coordinator at Research@GeneticDZ.com for details and to see if you qualify.
Participants will receive a $50 VISA gift card as our way of thanking them for participating.
This study is sponsored by EDS Network C.A.R.E.S. — an organization devoted to research for those affected by the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes. The study will be conducted by Genetic Disease Investigators, LLC. The Chief Investigator is Diana Driscoll, OD — EDS patient and President of Genetic Disease Investigators, LLC.
After being disabled by EDS/POTS for over a decade and watching the suffering of my children, I am so happy to now be in the position to get answers for others. An incredibly generous anonomous donation along with proceeds from the sale of “The Driscoll Theory” makes this study possible — my gratitude cannot adequately be expressed. I remain humbled and awed by the strength of everyone affected by this condition, and the ongoing efforts of so many to get answers. Gentle hugs to you all…
