Hi,
Thanks for that information. I still get dizziness from time to time, initially when I had the accident 10 years ago it felt like I was on a ferryboat for 9 days, I had great difficulty moving about. It felt odd for quite some years afterwards, in Oct 2004 I was diagnosed with Peripheral Vestibular Dysfunction, so I put it down to that.

Sometimes now when I turn my head, I can still have a moment’s unbalance, although it doesn’t happen all the time, I think my brain’s made some adjustments over the years.

Since the accident I have experienced other types of ‘dizziness’ too, not just the one described above. There’s also the type, sometimes described as the room spinning, a more severe dizziness if you like, usually linked with nausea, which may have happened once or twice but not very often.

Then there’s the type that you get where you know things are not right in your head (maybe poor bloodflow) and you know that if you don’t sit down you’re likely to fall down! I always thought that this was just a feature of POTS (most of the blood being in my legs so to speak) but I wonder if there is an element of involvement from the External Communicating Hydrocephalus here, as it would restrict the inflow/perfussion of blood. Is this the type of dizziness you speak of ?
