My experience of wearing a soft cervical collar was that it worsened my symptoms, as my head/neck junction wasn’t supported correctly. The Philadelphia collar however did the trick, as it kept my head and neck in better relationship to each other, allowing easier cerebro-spinal fluid flow through the junction, helping to reduce raised intracranial pressure.
