Hi…my dr has been watching my narrow angle glaucoma for like 5 years now. It was kind of narrow and then last year he said it got better. Then this week I went and he said it is worse and wants me to do the laser surgery to make a drain hole. I was wondering if spinal fluid pressure causes this. I don’t get how it was bad then better then worse now. I really don’t want to do the laser bc not sure if it will help. What do you think. Is there something else that might help with this. I do not want to have an attack. Thanks sooo much!!!

Hi Momof3, Narrow angle glaucoma is not related to spinal fluid pressure. It’s a structural issue (you have a narrow angle where the fluid of your eye drains. In darkness, when your pupil dilates, the iris scrunches up and can block the drainage angle. The laser creates an exit for the fluid and does so very well. One treatment is usually good for life. I don’t think you need to worry. Please let us know how it goes!
