ParticipantIf anyone can help with any of my concerns on the images, I would be so grateful!
I believe these are all vascular issues.
Thx,
MJ
PS please scroll down a bit, I posted 3 more images in addition to these five.January 30, 2015 at 3:14 pm #5274Dr. Diana
KeymasterHi MJ, I wish I could help you, but honestly, I think it would take looking at all of your images to even have a clue. I can’t even tell if these are arteries or veins! :-/

ParticipantOk, thanks Dr. Diana. Would you like me to send a CD? I have thought about sending one to Dr. Francomono and the surgeon she works with, but I don’t even know if they would look at it.

KeymasterI am curious if you asked your doctor? I think it’s important for us to communicate with our doctors about our concerns. If the doctor doesn’t have an answer, they can reach out to the radiologist for you. How does that sound?

ParticipantOkay. I am meeting with three vascular surgeons next week. I will see what they say and keep the post updated.

ParticipantSorry MJ, I’m not knowledgable enough regarding scans of arteries to comment, though I know the vertebral artery doesn’t follow a straight course, at the point you are indicating, it sort of hooks over the C1 bone and up and under the skull.
I notice one appears thicker than the other, though it’s difficult to tell on this scale. I was told it was common to see one vertebral artery thicker than the other too, when I questioned years after my fall, whether I had a ‘partially dissected’ left vertebral artery – so got no closer with that one either (though I had all the heavy bruising signs at the time of the accident!)
What did the radiologists written report of the scan say ? I’d get a copy of the written report, if you haven’t already.
Did you ever get any fundus photo’s done of your eyes because, as Dr Diana says, vascular structure, therefore general artery/vein condition and any associated abnormalities, can be seen more clearly in these vessels, just in case you have an overall blood vessel issue.
Regards
Barbara

ParticipantThanks Barbara. Any little bit helps. The problem with the report is I got the scan bc of a vascular spasm in my subclavian artery, so I think they are only looking at the shoulder images…
