From reading online it seems GI issues and EDS are fairly common and I have had my fair share (IBS, gall bladder that simply died ,no stones, then my bile duct went bad too and I had go have it cut open because the pressures in it were very high and causing constant pain). But today something new happened. I woke in the middle of the night with horrible intestinal pain and cramping, leading to a little diarrhea (nothing new there) BUT there was blood coming out too. Bright red with some clots and mucus. Went to the ER as instructed by my gastro doc, but all they did was run labs, give me one bag of IV fluids (my heartrate was 117 sitting down when I got to the ER- thanks to my POTS), do a rectal exam to be sure the bleeding was not from a tear or hemorroid (wasn’t) and an occult blood smear that proved yes, there was blood coming from somewhere kn my digestive system. They deemed me stable and sent me home to follow up with my GI doc to figure out where the blood is coming from. Of course, if it gets worse go back to the ER. ARGH! So frustrated. Has anyone else had something like this?

“Dr. Diana will always hold a very special place in my heart for her selfless devotion to helping everyone, not just the Ehlers-Danlos community. I hate to think what my life would be without her insight and guidance.”
