I’m trying to get my head around all this and struggling a bit due to awful brain fog at the moment but I am due to be having some histamine allergy testing on Friday – would this be for the same sort of thing?
:red:conjecturing…wondering…
came across posts by EDSers today that find anti histamines just dont work for their allergies… might adding in (or replacing ppi s with)
zantac or similar possibly make the anti histamines work??????
any idea?

Boy, that’s hard to say without checking with each person individually. It’s possible they are not on enough, or they may need H2 antagonists also. If it is mast cells causing the issues, they may also need a mast cell stabilizer. There are other drugs that target certain mast cell mediators, and those may be needed, too. It’s tough to tell… 🙂 Diana

Hi Bearcat, mast cell disorders are cousins of allergies, but are not allergies. I know, it’s confusing. PPI’s won’t help (or hurt) with allergies or mast cell treatment. I can’t really offer any insight for your friends with allergies (I don’t know anything about their condition, treatment, etc). 🙁 Diana
sorry -oops- just to be totally clear…
do/can I add the zantac (on top of the ppi) or do I take it instead of the ppi?
xxg
Yes! You can take both (check with your doctor, of course). 🙂
Thanks Everyone!
Thank you!
