So, I just got back from my regular eye exam and my doctor noted drusen in both eyes but said that it is a common finding in patients with EDS, so he wouldn’t worry about it. If I didn’t have EDS he would be concerned about macular degeneration. Then I read Dr. Driscoll’s EDS Eye Dr. appt handout and it states that EDS’ers maybe more prone to macular degeneration. So, now I’m confused.

I am also having this weird thing going on in my left eye.. it is like I can SEE my blind spot a lot of the time. It is a large black circle that is hovering just in from my peripheral vision. Lately, it almost seems like noticing someone or someones shadow coming toward me from my left side, but when I look no one is there. I’m starting to feel like I am going crazy. The eye doctor did several examinations and didn’t see anything in that eye and thinks maybe it is a floater. Well, I have squiggly floaters in both eyes and this is NOTHING like them.

The eye doctor did decide to do a field of vision test (next week) just to see if anything shows up on that (and because my father has low pressure glaucoma that was only DX with a field of vision test).

I am on Diamox 125 mg 4 tablets a day (for my migraines and POTS – thank you to Dr. Diana!) and my pressures were great today, of course.

Just wondering if there is something my eye doctor may be missing or is this another one of my “weird” things? lol!

Update: my field of vision was fine.

I also got a copy of the pics of the magnified view of the veins/arteries, etc of my eyes (sorry I don’t know what they are called?) that were taken before I had my CCSVI treated. Would love Dr. Diana to see them to see if my eyes also show the evidence of ccsvi pressure.

Also realized my prescription changed ..it got “better”. Since my last exam I have had 2 rounds of angioplasty and am on Diamox. My vision is a little beter and the astigmatism I had in both eyes is now gone. ??? Can that happen from a reduction in pressure in my head, eyes, vascular system?
