I wanted to add some pencil drawings I did. They are all things found in a biology lab.
From top to bottom, mast cell through the microscope, skull, microscope and tissue staining rack.
Are you a Medical Technologist/ Clinical Lab Scientist too? I do microbiology. I found that many of us MTs were both artist and scientist.

I went to school for histology. I can’t work right now but I volunteer in Chicago occasionally for a mast cell scientist.
Cool. I love cytology, but can’t stand the smell of all the acetone. We ever I had to go in to the cytology department I would be as quick as I could.
Not cytology. Histology… I work with tissue. We don’t use acetone. We use xylene though but most labs have gone away from it because it has long term effects from constant exposure. They use things like americlear or something like that.
Sorry histology. The places I have worked combine the cytology and histology into one huge department. Usually on the the same floor as the ORs, so the gross specimens don’t have to travel far. Much better that way. Less risk of something happening in transport. Plus when I was in school one could get their MT or CT or both. It is an old habit to refer to histopathology and cytopathology lab as cytology. Just as referring to the ED ( emergency department) as ER. You still have to us xylene for some things. There is no replacement for it as a clearing agent. It the best. Most places use a fume hood now and pour the waste unto a close bin. It is the acetone that affects me the most headache wise.
These are great! And no scent involved! ha. These are pictures that reflect our world! From the mast cell, to the images reflecting what researches had BETTER BE WORKING ON for us! Love it! Great work! 😉

“Dr. Diana will always hold a very special place in my heart for her selfless devotion to helping everyone, not just the Ehlers-Danlos community. I hate to think what my life would be without her insight and guidance.”
