My doctor gave me Diamox for travel to high elevations and Zonisamide for daily use. I have never heard anyone mention Zonisamide. Has anyone taken this? And here’s a little about what I’m taking it for- I have had a confirmed CSF leak out my nose it seems to have stopped but currently I am having intense lower back pain. Burning sensation on top of my brain and fullness. Then it feels like my eyes get pulled away and it becomes harder to see. Breathing is labored and I have tingling in my lower back. Stabbing right eye pain. I can’t sit or stand for very long and when I do I have terrible tremors and confusion. I have EDS, spontaneous CSF leaks, fibro, MCAS, and Pots/Dysautonomia. I was happy when my doctor gave me diamox because Dr. Driscoll talked about it so much but then sad when she said take Zonisamide daily. Does anyone have any experience with Zonisamide?

Hello, new friend! I just wanted to mention that Zonisamide is generally prescribed for seizures. Are you having true seizures? At POTS Care, we see quite a few folks presenting *similar to*
seizures, but these are not “true” seizures, and need to be addressed differently. Gentle hugs…

I am not having seizures at all. I believe I am having high inter cranial pressure. I have spontaneous CSF leaks out my nose that has been confirmed but no one wants to treat me for pressure. I am told I don’t fit the description I have very low blood pressure and I am not overweight. My doctor first said to take diamox then she said she wanted me to take something on a regular basis and that the diamox is not for regular use. My physical therapist contacted my doctor yesterday concerned that I am having Vertebralbasilar insufficiency but I haven’t heard back from her. And now I have a family emergency and need to travel I can’t go above 5000′ elevation without feeling like my brain is going to explode. So I am not sure why she gave me zonisamide and I’m a little uncomfortable about it. She did give me diamox for the trip to use at high elevations. I am at sea level right now and I feel like my head is going to explode so I am not sure what seizure medication can do for that? I was really hoping someone had experience with this drug and knew why I was given it?

    Hello,
I’m new, and I’m very confused about all of these conditions related to cerebral compression. I have POTS but I do not have any of the CSF leaks, or pressure symptoms – no headaches, no dripping fluid – nothing that I can observe actually. My POTS developed after a sinus turbinate surgery and greatly worsened in grad school almost 18 years later. I have since had ACell/PRP treatments to heal the turbinate nerves and they helped me emerge from serious illness – was bedridden, suffocation, severe POTS. My main symptoms now are breathing difficulties – the bronchioles actually feel sore when I breathe, exercise intolerance, temp dysregulation and brain fog. The breathing is what bothers me most though. I don’t feel like I am a candidate for Diamox or even Parasym plus. Really lost. Any suggestions?

For the majority of students, it is a serious challenge to submit a paper in due time. If you are one of such students consider a possibility to buy pdf poster and keep calm stressful student life.
