Thanks. Do supplements help or do they just suffer the same demise as magnesium from the food. How can I effect the intracellular absorption?
October 13, 2012 at 5:36 pm in reply to: Hypothermia? Bloodwork. Doctor cooperation. Diagnostic Proof. Foolproof diagnostics? #3051AnneParticipantI definitely have cold hands, feet, knees and nose. The only doc. comment was “people don’t get Raynaud’s symptoms in the knees”. How does that help? I once sat on my couch in layers of clothes, my down jacket, an electric blanket and a down comforter and still couldn’t warm up! Electric blankets are useless. The only thing that helps in bed is my microwavable bed warmer. Seems to emit a moist heat. I won’t go to bed without it or I’d be up all night.
I also have low BP and temp. I was told the red moles are a part of aging and the white spots are a fungus. I can’t do anything physical for a normal amount of time. I have to take breaks doing anything. I feel so weak and it gets worse as I age. There have been times I’ve just had to stop walking, sit down and just wait until I felt I could start again. I’ve gotten used to having to take breaks. I’m a bodyworker and have to be on my feet and I take more breaks than most therapists. Means I can’t see as many people in a day. Even though I’ve worked it out for now I can’t imagine it getting better and I’ll have to stop working eventually. I’m only 48. I think though, that I’m so good at what I do because I’ve had to figure out how to use my hands safely but effectively.
I have smelled cigs. and popcorn before several times but not often. Too many pains to list. I’m also single so I carry my own groceries in and do my own vacuuming. No yard work – I would only ever rent. I fear being single forever because I can’t imagine someone being attracted to this mess and I feel much older than I am. Bummer.
AnneParticipantOh, I forgot something BIG. MAGNESIUM! We are all short on it intracellularly (even if it is OK in our blood). We need lots (Epsom salt baths are good, too). It REALLY helps with those spasms. I nearly kicked my husband out of the bed a few times (sometimes he deserved it, but not always!). 🙂
When you say we are all short on magn. do you mean those with EDS or people in general?
Thanks.AnneParticipantIn my previous post, I said “soft cervical pillow” and I meant collar.
AnneParticipantI read on another post that Dr. D. recommends soft cervical pillow. I had used this despite my chiropractor saying “Oh no, don’t do that, not recommended at all”. However, it DOES work if I wear it loosely – it follows my movements during the night and provides my cervicals support. If I don’t wear it, I find myself hanging off the edge of my pillow and almost afraid to move. It also keeps my clavicles from riding upwards which helps my shoulder pain.
I’ve also stopped trying to keep up with other people. Before I knew of the legitimacy of my problems, I tried to hike mountains and work as hard as others. Not happening. I now alternate 1 hour of physical activity with 1/2 hour passive work whenever I can. Thank goodness I’m organized! This is the first forum on which I’ve ever posted because I’m so grateful.August 19, 2012 at 9:13 am in reply to: Who has neck pain with pain at the bottom back of their heads that radiates down to their shoulders? #2776AnneParticipantI have EDS and my neck pain has been with me my whole adult life. I’m 48. It is practically gone now since I stopped eating wheat and eggs. Does this make sense? I’m so happy. Now for the other pains……
