Sorry to hear that you are going through this. I have never had my back ‘lock up’, but my ribs often subluxate and sometimes dislocate. This causes unbearable pain. I have found that using a spring / coil free mattress has helped a little. Also, I like to use ice packs and Epsom salt baths.
Have you been able to identify what makes it better or worse?

Please let me know your thoughts. #2939Bo728ParticipantSo after watching this video, I went back to look at my 23andme results. It appears that I have the genetic defect of the MTHFR gene (at snp rs1801133, AA). I’m interested in why you thought that you and your family may of had this. What does it imply?
Interestingly, I started to read up on this gene a little bit a few weeks ago. In 23andme it is related to neural tube defects. Since I am currently trying to concieve this caught my eye.
Bo728ParticipantHi Barb, Thanks for your reply! So how long did it take to get approved (from first date of disability to approval? from date of filing to approval?)
From dealing with my employers third party disability group, I currently have all of the medical records provided to me. My problem is some of my doctors & specialists don’t write up office notes. Because of this I’ve asked them to write a letter for me. Also, last year I was keeping both weekly then monthly health journals that I would get signed by one of my doctors. Since these were not being accepted by the disability group I was working with, I stopped getting them signed by my doctor. Will the SSDI review personal journals & documentation?
My biggest question I am debating right now is should I submit my initial application myself or get an attorney / another group such as ALLSUP to be involved from the beginning?

@Alyssamu: I don’t think this post is for you
Bo728ParticipantI saw Dr Michael Holick, an endocrinologist, earlier this year. He is very big on vitamin d and wrote “The Vitamin D Solution”.
Over the last two months I have been using a ‘Sperti Vitamin D lamp’ almost every other day. I just had my levels checked this week and they were a 41. I am very excited as this is the highest they have ever been. I have previously taken supplements for years, but because of malabsorption issues my levels stayed in the teens / low twenties.
